The newborn had been left in a car seat while the child’s mother went shopping at a supermarket in Porirua on New Zealand’s north island.

A photo of the baby, and the hastily scrawled note which had a mobile phone number on it, has sparked outrage after it was printed in a newspaper and posted online.

According to The New Zealand Herald, a man who parked next to the car with the abandoned baby raised the alarm.

He told the paper: “It was written from the baby’s perspective, and it said, ‘my mum’s in doing the shopping, call her if I need anything’, and it had the cellphone number.

“We waited there for a little bit, wondering if the mum was just going to be two seconds and come back.

“And my wife said, ‘I’m not going in without someone being here with the baby’.”

The baby was spotted in the car park of Pak’nSave on Saturday morning.

According to the newspaper, another two passers-by waited by the car, with one of them phoning the mother and telling her to come outside.

Senior sergeant Justin Rakena said police could not investigate if there had been no complaint, and no-one had come forward to talk to police about it.

They had not spoken with the mother.

Police would “absolutely” investigate if a complaint was made, he told NZ Newswire.

It is illegal in New Zealand to leave a child under 14 years old alone for an unreasonable time or in unreasonable conditions.

Doing so could result in a fine of up to NZ$2,000 (£1,000).

The video then uses editing tools to show what looks like the “man” shape shifting into a reptilian alien.

The agent’s features smooth over and he seems to lose his ears as his jawline begins to jut and transform into a lizard shape.

It’s definitely one of the weirder alien theory videos ever published.

Vets at the Panda Breeding and Research Base in Chengdu, Sichuan province, were worried when inexperienced five-year-old female Colin kept rejecting her mate,Yongyong.

So they played the pair a film of pandas doing what comes naturally to show them what they should be up to.

“Every time Yongyong tried to mount her, Colin fought him off and we were worried she was going to miss her very short, three-day breeding cycle,” said a spokesman for the centre.

“So we played them the film and she took great interest in it. After that there was no stopping her and they mated successfully.”

One vet at the centre explained: “Colin is in her first year of sexual maturity.

“In the wild she would have seen lots of other pandas mating so it’s no wonder that she needed a bit of help.”

The 22-ton bridge, which was 25 meters long, was in a village in Kocaeli’s Gölçük district and was regularly used by villagers to cross a creek to reach their orchards. The villagers were astonished to discover the disappearance of the bridge on Monday morning as they were making their way to the orchards and immediately alerted the police.

A young boy in China is recovering from injuries suffered when his bike seat bent and the rod holding it penetrated his anus, MSNnow.com reported.

Firefighters were able to remove most of the bike, but the rod remained in the anus of the student, whose name has not been released, according to SingaporeSeen.stomp.com.

The child was then taken to a local hospital by ambulance where the medical staff the medical staff removed the bike rod and he was released without serious injury, RocketNews24 reported.
