In his story Brethel said that he almost opened the door and let the children in until he noticed that their eyes were completely black, with no iris or pupil. As he says, as soon as children realized he sees something odd, they became angry and insistent, and he drove away quickly. In his posting he implies that this children may have been using some mind control method to induce him to open the door.

Since this post, there have been other reports of similar experiences in other parts of the country. These accounts are similar to Bethel’s in that they generally involve the children’s request for the person to let them inside their car or house, frequently using an excuse such as “I need to get home to my mother,” or something that implies the child is in need.

What could these children be?

If we are to trow away at least 70% of the stories found online about these approaches and take that 30% are some of the truth how can we explain it? There are lot of people who would for their own entertainment or write a story of this kind just to make fun of people who are into paranormal stuff. If we are to look logically into these stories about meetings with these children, we get to learn that all of them were asking to be let in, saying that they can’t get in until they are invited. It seems like, all of the people who are reporting about this unusual encounter, have never let the child or children in because of the fear. There for we don’t know what happens if you invite this kind of a child into your home or car. Going down the logical path, you all know that contact lenses of these kind can be found easily, this is not a mission impossible. But, still, stay logic with me, why would a child do something like this? For a laugh? Still this doesn’t sound right to me.

The most bizarre contradiction to the story is the fact that Black Eyed Kids are said to give off a frightening vibe. Those that meet them claim to feel threatened, panicked and even disoriented. Some believe that this could be a result of their black eyes, maybe some sort of hypnotic suggestion used as an attempt to convince the person to let them inside their house or vehicle.

Their persistence to be invited in is a scary one. We must remember that the idea of an evil presence needing some sort of invitation before entering a house (or even a human being) is a longstanding belief in many religions.
Choosing a form of a child is a clever one. Because, people would rather say yes to a needy child coming up in the middle of the night on the doorstep than to a man or women.

What could these children be? Vampires, human/alien hybrids, lost souls, demons in disguise? None of these are something you can point a finger on it. Can this be a hoax? Did we get any conclusion? Sadly, no, but we’ll look into this and if you had an encounter with these children let us know…

In a society wary of admitting to mental problems, many are turning to exorcists for help.

Tales of spectral figures lined up at shops where now there is only rubble are what psychiatrists say is a reaction to fear after the March 11, 2011, the disaster in which nearly 19,000 people were killed.

“The places where people say they see ghosts are largely those areas completely swept away by the tsunami,” said Keizo Hara, a psychiatrist in the city of Ishinomaki, one of the areas worst-hit by the waves touched off by an offshore earthquake.

“We think phenomena like ghost sightings are perhaps a mental projection of the terror and worries associated with those places.”

Hara said post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) might only now be emerging in many people, and the country could be facing a wave of stress-related problems.

“It will take time for PTSD to emerge for many people in temporary housing for whom nothing has changed since the quake,” he said.

Shinichi Yamada escaped the waves that destroyed his home and later salvaged two Buddhist statues from the wreckage. But when he brought them back to the temporary housing where he lived, he said strange things began to happen.

His two children suddenly got sick and an inexplicable chill seemed to follow the family through the house, he said.

“A couple of times when I was lying in bed, I felt something walking across me, stepping across my chest,” Yamada told Reuters.

Many people in Japan hold on to ancient superstitions despite its ultra-modern image. Yamada, like many other people in the area, turned to exorcist Kansho Aizawa for help.

Aizawa, 56, dressed in a black sweater and trousers and with dangling pearl earrings, said in an interview in her home that she had seen numerous ghosts.

“There are headless ghosts, and some missing hands or legs. Others are completely cut in half,” she said. “People were killed in so many different ways during the disaster and they were left like that in limbo. So it takes a heavy toll on us, we see them as they were when they died.”

In some places destroyed by the tsunami, people have reported seeing ghostly apparitions queuing outside supermarkets which are now only rubble. Taxi drivers said they avoided the worst-hit districts for fear of picking up phantom passengers.

“At first, people came here wanting to find the bodies of their family members. Then they wanted to find out exactly how that person died, and if their spirit was at peace,” Aizawa said.

As time passed, people’s requests changed.

“They’ve started wanting to transmit their own messages to the dead,” Aizawa said.

Shinichi Yamada said life had improved since he put the two Buddhist statues in a shrine and prayed. He still believes the statues are haunted, but now thinks their spirits are at peace.

In the article, Sarah Everts, C&EN’s European science correspondent, delves back into history, explaining that the skull sculptures — supposedly crafted before the Spanish conquest in the 16th century — began appearing on the art market in the 1860s. They graced collections of institutions as renowned as the British Museum in London, the Quai Branly Museum in Paris and Washington, D.C.’s Smithsonian Institution.

Experts began doubting the authenticity of the skulls as long ago as the 1930s. Everts describes how experts at those three museums have used scientific instruments to show that the skulls are post-Columbian fakes. French antiquities dealer Eugène Boban played a major role in sparking public fascination with the skulls by getting some of the first fakes placed in major museums.

Thirty minutes before he carouses and consoles and chats and makes funny with a room of dead people, Ezio De Angelis sits in his car with his eyes closed and hands on the wheel. It’s dusk but still steaming at Picton’s golf club, south-west of Sydney, and he opens the window of his red Commodore to stop sweat staining his shirt. Galahs scream and pokies jangle as he mumbles prayers to any spirits who happen to hear him.

Inside the club’s bistro – dress code: “smart casual preferred” – about 80 people are bent over plates of chicken schnitzel and chips, soft-drink cans and mobile phones. Race 6 at the Albury trots runs on a mute TV screen high in the corner while they wait for the show to start. They have come to this most ordinary of settings on the promise of an extraordinary evening. They have come to raise their beloved dead. They have come because they each paid $35.

They’re so primed for an otherworldly encounter that by the time De Angelis, 51, walks to the front of the room at 7.40pm, the spirits are practically leaching from the peach-painted walls. He holds the microphone gently in his right hand, like a lounge-bar Lothario with his cleft chin and close-cropped hair, white shirt, snug grey pants and shined shoes.

He’s feeling good tonight and jokes that if the plastic chairs start levitating, “I’m heading out the door and you can follow me.” He introduces his invisible spirit guide Marcus – who, he says, looks like David Beckham, only more handsome – and tells the obliging audience to give themselves a round of applause.

“I have absolutely no idea where I’m going,” he says, smiling through thick pink lips. He is guided, he says, by voices from beyond the grave. “I saw the word Frances and I think I want to go right to this group here,” he says, turning towards that third of the audience whose seats overlook the ninth green. A young woman with dark hair raises her hand. Frances was her mother’s middle name. De Angelis pulls a face. “Why do I feel sick? Did Mum get quite sick before she crossed over, did she?”

Coursing through his body, he explains, is the sensation of each spirit’s passing: if they died by suicide, he will feel embarrassed; if they had dementia, he’ll become confused; people who died from prostate cancer will poke him in the rear. Continue, SMH.com

There’s a third alternative and it is to examine the evidence without prejudice, without materialistic prejudice or religious prejudice, and see what the evidence says.

I believe that the conclusions that the evidence implies are not dogmatic. They do not ask people to go out and burn those who disagree with us at the stake or to wage war against those who disagree with us.

The vigil was held to remember the 12 killed in the shooting that happened at the theater Friday morning.

When the author’s husband, Burke, was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, Faye expected God to perform a miracle. Both she and her husband were devout Christians. “I expressed my faith. I covered him in the word of God. I read the Bible to him every day,” she says.

The miracle she expected did not happen. Just 21 days after the diagnosis, 53-year-old Burke passed away. But a different miracle did occur.
