Observing the sky with the green filter of it panoramic camera, the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit came across a surprise: a streak across the sky.

The streak, seen in the middle of this mosaic of images taken by the navigation and panoramic cameras, was probably the brightest object in the sky at the time.

Scientists theorize that the mystery line could be either a meteorite or one of seven out-of-commission spacecraft still orbiting Mars.

Because the object appeared to move 4 degrees of an arc in 15 seconds it is probably not the Russian probes Mars 2, Mars 3, Mars 5, or Phobos 2; or the American probes Mariner 9 or Viking 1.

That leaves Viking 2, which has a polar orbit that would fit with the north-south orientation of the streak. In addition, only Viking 1 and 2 were left in orbits that could produce motion as fast as that seen by Spirit. Said Mark Lemmon, a rover team member from Texas A&M University, Texas,

“Is this the first image of a meteor on Mars, or an image of a spacecraft sent from another world during the dawn of our robotic space exploration program? The idea that life on Earth came from another planet has been around as a modern scientific theory since the 1960s when it was proposed by Fred Hoyle and Chandra Wickramasinghe. At the time they were ridiculed for their idea — known as panspermia. But now, with growing evidence, it’s back in vogue and even being studied by NASA.

We meet the scientists on a mission to get to the bottom of the beginnings of life on Earth – from the team in Texas who are lovingly building a robotic submarine called DEPTHX to explore a moon of Jupiter, to Southern India where they are investigating a mysterious red rain which fell for two months in 2001. According to local scientist Godfrey Louis, the rain contains biological cells unlike any he had seen before — with no DNA and the ability to replicate at 300°C. Louis has come to the conclusion that the cells are extra-terrestrial in origin.

Could all this really be proof that we are the aliens?

Eyewitness states: “I was out last night getting some video of the moon when something caught my attention. I saw a flash on the screen so I hit record and slewed the camera over in that direction. The UFO hung around for 7 minutes.”

“Footage is a clip from National Geographic’s “Omens of the Apocalypse”, and seems to show a saucer shaped object. The footage was shot next to an airfield, but that does not mean its an airplane, it certainly does not look like one, in my opinion”

The video then uses editing tools to show what looks like the “man” shape shifting into a reptilian alien.

The agent’s features smooth over and he seems to lose his ears as his jawline begins to jut and transform into a lizard shape.

It’s definitely one of the weirder alien theory videos ever published.

The object, caught as the camera showed a view of the Sistine Chapel at night, is circular and glowing a strange red color. The UFO doesn’t move at all, which seems to rule out the possibility it’s a balloon. Even a drone usually makes more movement. Why would there be a drone over the Vatican?

The video uploader processed the image, reversing it into a negative. The object is perfectly round and maintains its position throughout.

Some would say this is a sign that the naming of the new Pope would be of interest to extraterrestrials visiting Earth in secret. Others are much more skeptical, but still offer no other reasonable explanation.

The science of SETI@home
SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is a scientific area whose goal is to detect intelligent life outside Earth. One approach, known as radio SETI, uses radio telescopes to listen for narrow-bandwidth radio signals from space. Such signals are not known to occur naturally, so a detection would provide evidence of extraterrestrial technology.

Radio telescope signals consist primarily of noise (from celestial sources and the receiver’s electronics) and man-made signals such as TV stations, radar, and satellites. Modern radio SETI projects analyze the data digitally. More computing power enables searches to cover greater frequency ranges with more sensitivity. Radio SETI, therefore, has an insatiable appetite for computing power.

Previous radio SETI projects have used special-purpose supercomputers, located at the telescope, to do the bulk of the data analysis. In 1995, David Gedye proposed doing radio SETI using a virtual supercomputer composed of large numbers of Internet-connected computers, and he organized the SETI@home project to explore this idea. SETI@home was originally launched in May 1999.

The two original goals of SETI@home were:
1.to do useful scientific work by supporting an observational analysis to detect intelligent life outside Earth, and
2.to prove the viability and practicality of the ‘volunteer computing’ concept.

The second of these goals is generally considered to have succeeded completely. The current BOINC environment, a development of the original SETI@home, is providing support for many computationally intensive projects in a wide range of disciplines.

The first of these goals has to date yielded no conclusive results: no evidence for ETI signals has been shown via SETI@home. However, ongoing continuation is predicated on the assumption that the observational analysis is not an ‘ill-posed’ one. The vast majority of the sky (over 98%) has yet to be surveyed, and each point in the sky must be surveyed many times to exclude even a subset of possibilities.

The video, posted to YouTube on March 9, is titled, Amazing GIANT UFO Near The International Space Station, March 2013 HD. It is alleged to have been videotaped from NASA’s live ISS video stream, and shows a large cylindrical object in the distance, near the earth, moving slightly slower than earth’s rotation. At first glance, it is exciting. However, as pointed out by Disclose.tv user WillEase666, if you go look at the original video on the ISS Live Feed, the UFO is not there.

If you stop the original video at exactly at 01:20:34 and you will see the “ufo” simply is not there…nice try though.

Russell Crowe claims to have spotted a UFO above Australia and has posted pictures of the supposed alien craft online. The Les Miserable star has shared pictures of a red rectangular light moving across the Sydney skyline in synchronisation with an orange rectangular light shining on the ground on the internet, and claims it to be evidence of an Unidentified Flying Object on Earth.

Russell tweeted: “UFO? Time Lapse Photos Outside RC’s Woolloomooloo Office (THESE ARE REAL!).”

He added: “No Flash, can’t be a lens flare because it moves, camera is fixed.” The Oscar-winning actor revealed he and his friend had set up a camera to “capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens” and added “this was a big surprise”.
