Alien Life May Not Be So Alien If It Exists At All
Gerald Joyce, Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, tells us that it is likely that alien lifeforms on another planet may be DNA-based like life on earth and that with new planets being discovered so rapidly, it’s just a “matter of time” before one is discovered that may be hospitable to life.
Even though alien life may be based on the same building blocks of DNA as we are, it doesn’t guarantee that it would resemble anything easily recognizable.
Alien life could look like this odd ‘creature’ floating near an underwater oil drill: Is this a creature? Or a thing? No one can quite figure out what this thing is and guesses range from fish air bladder to shark guts to type of jellyfish.
